Members of a long-standing Brick fitness club told members this week it was closing its doors for good.<\/p>\n

With no explanation as to why it was closing,\u00a0Brick Fitness for Women announced to members that it would not reopen after closing time Thursday.<\/p>\n

According to an e-mail sent to members and obtained by Shorebeat, \u201cAfter 27 years in Brick, we have made countless valued friendships.\u00a0It is tough to say good bye,\u201d the business told members.<\/p>\n

Members will no longer be billed for their accounts, the e-mail said. The business, in its e-mail, suggested several \u201calternatives\u201d where members could go.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou may transfer your monthly billing to Toms River Fitness<\/span> & Aquatic Center\/Toms River Fitness<\/span> for Women,\u201d the e-mail said. \u00a0\u201cThe lower Brick Fitness<\/span> billing will be allowed until the end of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prepaid Membership time at Brick Fitness<\/span> will be recognized at Toms River Fitness<\/span> & Aquatic Center\/Toms River Fitness<\/span> for Women, the e-mail said.\u00a0 Additionally \u201cbonus time\u201d equal to prepaid time will be added at no additional charge.<\/p>\n

If the alternative above that applies to your Membership is satisfactory there is nothing you have to do.\u00a0 On your first Toms River visit your Membership card will be created, along with any necessary paperwork.\u00a0 You may add the \u201cfree\u201d Membership at any time, at the Toms River Fitness<\/span> desk.<\/p>\n

Members may use Meridian for the next two weeks at no charge.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cShould you decide to join, there will be no enrollment fee,\u201d the e-mail said.<\/p>\n

Shorebeat was unable to speak with the club\u2019s owner as to the reason why it was closing.<\/p>\n
