(Photo: Daniel Nee)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A man who Brick police say was in the country illegally and wanted for suspicion of homicide and gang activity was arrested when Brick officers pulled over his vehicle last weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Patrolman Thomas Caulfield conducted a motor\u00a0vehicle stop on a 2008 Ford E-250 van on Route 35 South in the area of\u00a0Cuttyhunk Road, Sgt. Neal Pedersen said, and identified the front seat passenger as\u00a0Melvin Martinez-Guevara, 25, from Elizabeth. Martinez-Guevara had an active NCIC Warrant fromEl Salvador for Homicide Gang activity, Pedersen said.<\/p>\n<p>Martinez-Guevara was\u00a0arrested and transported to headquarters where he was also charged with\u00a0Riding on Parts Not Intended for Passengers and Failure to Wear a Seatbelt.\u00a0He was processed and turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).<\/p>\n<p>ICE confirmed Martinez-Guevara is in the US illegally and was charged by ICE\u00a0with Unlawful Entry into the United States. The arrestee is currently being\u00a0housed at a Federal Detention Center in Elizabeth.
