(Photo: Brick Historical Society)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A portion of Brick will be taken back in history to the 19th century this weekend, when a Civil War encampment will be re-enacted in the Herbertsville section of town.<\/p>\n<p>The encampment is not the re-enactment of a battle, rather, it shows how soldiers lived day-to-day during wartime.<\/p>\n<p>The 61st New York Volunteer Regiment will spend the weekend and show visitors what life was like in camp at the Havens Homestead house and museum off Herbertsville Road. They will march, fire guns and answer questions. The public is invited to share experiences with them and are welcome during the\u00a0daytime hours Aug. 5 and until 3 pm on <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_25685215\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Aug. 6<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the Encampment, the Society will hold a bake sale and there will be sale items in the Lizzie Herbert Gift Shop. Civil War \u201cHanky Dolls\u201d will be featured. There will be free tours of the Havens Homestead Museum from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days, and the other buildings, such as the barn, the cranberry shed and the fishing shack will be open for viewing.
