Brando <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shorebeat.com\/brick\/2017\/08\/citing-health-reasons-brando-drops-out-of-brick-mayoral-race\/\">told Shorebeat this week<\/a> that he was dropping out of the race due to health concerns \u2013 specifically, a condition which may require surgery and a lengthy recovery period.<\/p>\n<p>The Brick Republican County Committee met Tuesday night and selected Scaturro to replace him, saying in a statement that the former councilwoman \u201centers the race as an experienced-on hands servant for her community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scaturro is a retired controller at Ferguson Enterprises and a resident of Lions Head South retirement community.
