(Photo: Laurelton Fire Company)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A small fire that forced the evacuation of Emma Havens Young Elementary School Thursday morning has been traced to a conduit unit linked to the school solar power system.<\/p>\n<p>School staff called 911 at 9:07 a.m., said Richard Orlando, deputy fire marshal for the township.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe found a small fire that was burning, but it was not the building,\u201d he said. \u201cIt was the conduit to the solar system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Once the conduit was disconnected, the fire stopped burning, however there was a smoke condition in the electrical room of the school and the entire building was evacuated out of an abundance of caution.<\/p>\n<p>Orlando said crews, including JCP&L, have mainly left the scene and the building should be cleared for students to return Friday.<\/p>\n<p>All of the township\u2019s fire companies responded to the incident, Orlando said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fcbkbttn_buttons_block\" id=\"fcbkbttn_left\"><div class=\"fb-share-button fcbkbttn_large_button \" data-href=\"https:\/\/shorebeat.com\/brick\/2017\/09\/fire-at-brick-elementary-school-traced-to-solar-conduit-panel\/\" data-type=\"button_count\" data-size=\"large\"><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A small fire that forced the evacuation of Emma Havens Young Elementary School Thursday morning has been traced to a conduit unit linked to the school solar power system.
