Mayor John Ducey (Photo: Daniel Nee)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Brick handed a landslide victory to incumbent mayor John Ducey, who bested his Republican opponent by a 66 percent to 31 percent margin.<\/p>\n<p>Ducey garnered 14,345 votes compared to Scaturro\u2019s 6,750.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, all three incumbent Democratic council members were handily re-elected, which maintains the party\u2019s control over the entire seven-member council. Council members Paul Mummolo, Marianna Pontoriero and Heather deJong cruised to victory Tuesday night, each with more than 11,000 votes. Their GOP challengers, Marilyn Lago, John Ciocco and Lois Turner, all received about 8,000 votes. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shorebeat.com\/brick\/2017\/11\/live-election-results-brick-mayor-council-boe-n-j-governor-legislators\/\">The full slate of results can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Brick will also have two new Board of Education members. Maria Foster, a labor organizer with ties to the Democrats, was elected, along with Jessica Clayton, an in-home preschool operator who was endorsed by the Green Party. John Barton, an incumbent who ran on the same ticket as Foster, was not re-elected.
