(Photo: Daniel Nee)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A new round of lawn maintenance for the township\u2019s solar farm on Sally Ike Road will commence soon, under a new contract awarded last week.<\/p>\n<p>After the ink dried on the contract that governed the operation of the solar farm \u2013 which sits on top of the now-capped French\u2019s Landfill site \u2013 some officials, including Mayor John Ducey, were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shorebeat.com\/brick\/2015\/05\/mayor-brick-stuck-with-78k-frenchs-landfill-mowing-bill\/\">outraged that the lessee of the site was not responsible<\/a> for lawn maintenance. The angle of the landfill cap make it impossible for traditional lawnmowers to reach the top, necessitating the use of a robotic mower that is a rare offering by maintenance firms.<\/p>\n<p>Brick last week awarded the latest contract for maintenance of the site to\u00a0On-Site Landscape Management, of Millstone Township. Brick will pay On-Site\u00a0$17,789 per year for two years for their services.<\/p>\n<p>According to Council President Heather deJong, 59 bidders were notified of the solicitation.
