Scheufler, 47, \u00a0who also goes by the names \u201cWithout Prejudice\u201d and \u201cIesus: The Christ, An Irrevocable Trust,\u201d was charged with filing a false public instrument, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>Scheufler\u2019s arrest stems from the charge of falsifying government records after he allegedly filed a false Uniform Commercial Code Financing Statement \u2013 essentially, he is accused of placing liens against victims \u2013 from his home in Brick.<\/p>\n<p>Scheufler, prosecutors say, considers himself a \u201csovereign citizen,\u201d part of a movement made up of people who consider themselves only answerable to their own interpretation of common law, versus state and federal laws. The movement has gained momentum in recent years, with participants believing they are not \u201cfederal citizens\u201d who accept a nation\u2019s laws versus their own.<\/p>\n<p>The matter was brought to the attention of the Prosecutor\u2019s Office by alleged victims who had previous dealings with Schuefler, Della Fave said.
