The coach told Officer Joshua Pedalino that after the game, Oleske ran across the field toward him and then tackled him without any provocation or warning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe two men then fought on the ground until bystanders broke them apart,\u201d said Stocco.<\/p>\n<p>The coach confirmed that he told the players the season was over as a discipline measure for poor sportsmanship and bad attitudes, Stocco said.<\/p>\n<p>Pedalino interviewed several people \u201cand determined that Mr. Oleske was the sole aggressor,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n<p>Pedalino placed Oleske under arrest and charged him with simple assault.\u00a0 Oleske was released on his own recognizance pending a later court date.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"fcbkbttn_buttons_block\" id=\"fcbkbttn_left\"><div class=\"fb-share-button fcbkbttn_large_button \" data-href=\"https:\/\/shorebeat.com\/brick\/2014\/10\/cops-toms-river-dad-slapped-with-assault-charge-after-tackling-youth-football-coach\/\" data-type=\"button_count\" data-size=\"large\"><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Toms River dad is facing assault charges after police say he tackled his son\u2019s youth football coach after he disciplined team members for poor sportsmanship.
