A new Wawa store, a restaurant and retail space proposed for Route 88 in Brick will be the subject of a zoning board hearing this week.<\/p>\n

After several delays, the board will hear an updated application by developer Jack Morris on Wednesday. A similar plan for same site \u2013 the Laurelton Mobile Home Park \u2013 was turned down by the board earlier this year. The site is located at the intersection of the state highway and Jack Martin Boulevard.<\/p>\n

Plans have called for a 5,000 square foot Wawa store with 16 fuel pumps and 135 parking spaces.\u00a0Morris\u2019 plan also called for the construction of a 4,535 square foot bank with drive-through lanes, a 7,182 square foot commercial building including a 3,000 square foot, 160 seat restaurant, and a 9,288 square foot daycare center.<\/p>\n

The Board of Adjustment last heard testimony on the proposal in June but failed to complete the proceedings and hear all of the required testimony. Wednesday\u2019s meeting is a special meeting dedicated to the Morris application only; public questions and comments are accepted at the end of expert testimony.<\/p>\n

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 8 at the municipal complex on Chambers Bridge Road.<\/p>\n

JSM at Martin Boulevard, the holding company for the project,\u00a0purchased the Laurelton Mobile Home Park for $3.85 million, with the intent of the developer to turn most of the trailer park into commercial space while leasing out space for some remaining mobile homes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
