Over 100 evacuations occurred in the Greenbriar I adult community. Riccio is coordinating with the Office of Emergency Management as well as the Red Cross to assist people displaced from their homes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCitizens are asked to remain off of the roads and remain home as more severe storms are expected this afternoon and early evening,\u201d the police department said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Original Report:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The northern half of Brick Township was hit especially hard by hours of rainfall Monday morning, which trapped drivers in their vehicles, left dozens of cars disabled on the side of roads and flooded almost every major thoroughfare in the Herbertsville section.<\/p>\n<p>All of the township\u2019s fire departments were responding to calls into the afternoon, with firefighter utilizing Deuce-and-a-Half military trucks and inflatable boats to extricate drivers from cars.<\/p>\n<p>Early estimates indicate Brick may have received between six and eight inches of rain during the downpour, which lasted most of the morning and cleared around 11:30 a.m. Streets were littered with mud, and in some areas an unsavory mixture of floodwater, oil, gasoline and mud came together to produce pools that were more than four feet deep.
