{"id":1336,"date":"2014-10-08T05:21:53","date_gmt":"2014-10-08T09:21:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.shorebeat.com\/brick\/?p=1336"},"modified":"2014-10-08T05:38:33","modified_gmt":"2014-10-08T09:38:33","slug":"brick-salutes-its-crossing-guards-traffic-safety-officers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shorebeat.com\/brick\/2014\/10\/brick-salutes-its-crossing-guards-traffic-safety-officers\/","title":{"rendered":"Brick Salutes Its Crossing Guards, Traffic Safety Officers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brick officials thanked the township\u2019s crossing guards and traffic safety police officers in two resolutions at Tuesday night\u2019s township council meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor John Ducey declared Oct. 8 \u201cCrossing Guard Appreciation Day\u201d in the township, recognizing the crossing guards\u2019 dedication not only to getting the township\u2019s children safely to school, but helping families make it safely across busy Route 35 to the beach in the summer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re out there in all kinds of weather, too,\u201d Ducey said.<\/p>\n<p>The mayor and council also recognized two of the township\u2019s police officers \u2013 Sgt.
