The mulch is produced by leaf material picked up by Public Works, and is located at the recycling center on Ridge Road.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the township found itself with excess mulch, and will put it to good use, officials said. The township council last week entered into a contract with a vendor who will buy the filtered and unfiltered soil and mulch.<\/p>\n<p>Business Administrator Joanne Bergin said Advance Soil Technologies will pay $3 per cubic for screened mulch and $1 per cubic yard of unscreened mulch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe township anticipates having 3,000 cubic yards of screened mulch and 3,000 cubic yards of unscreened mulch,\u201d said Bergin.<\/p>\n<p>That would add up to $12,000 that can be set in the township\u2019s coffers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe mulch is mostly leaf byproducts from trees within the township, acquired from homeowners or removed by township employees from parks and other properties,\u201d said Bergin.<\/p>\n<p>The township will sell the mulch that is not taken by residents for free or used at township facilities, such as buildings and parks.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fcbkbttn_buttons_block\" id=\"fcbkbttn_left\"><div class=\"fb-share-button fcbkbttn_large_button \" data-href=\"https:\/\/shorebeat.com\/brick\/2019\/09\/mulch-money-free-for-residents-brick-will-make-thousands-from-extra-soil\/\" data-type=\"button_count\" data-size=\"large\"><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For years, Brick Township has always offered top-quality soil and mulch to residents for free.
