A juvenile has been charged with four counts of attempted murder, among other charges, in connection with Tuesday\u2019s shooting on Lanes Mill Road that left another teen wounded.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors in Ocean County announced Thursday afternoon that they had arrested the 17-year-old male. They did not divulge the suspect\u2019s name or release his photograph.<\/p>\n

Central to the investigation was footage from nearby residential security cameras, including Ring doorbell cameras. After piecing together evidence, authorities say they conducted a no-knock search warrant in Asbury Park Wednesday night, leading to the arrest of the juvenile.<\/p>\n

Members of the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office, Brick Township Police Department, Ocean County Sheriff\u2019s Office, and the Monmouth County Emergency Response Team participated. The juvenile suspect was taken into custody and transported to Brick police headquarters for processing before being transferred to the Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center.<\/p>\n

A joint press release from the prosecutor\u2019s office and Brick police did not say offer details into how police identified their suspect, nor did it mention whether there was any connection to a separate shooting that occurred over the weekend in the Briar Mills apartment complex, nearby the Tuesday shooting.<\/p>\n

The teen suspect is charged with four counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.<\/p>\n

The victim, a 16-year-old male, is expected to fully recover after what a source described as a graze wound to the shoulder he suffered while walking near Brick Memorial High School, at the corner of Lanes Mill Road and New York Avenue. Police have said the boy ran back to school after he was shot and was let in by another student. A crossing guard initially called 911.<\/p>\n

The investigation included a slew of law enforcement agencies, including: the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office Major Crime Unit; Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office High Tech Crime Unit; Brick Township Police Department; Ocean County Sheriff\u2019s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit; Ocean County Sheriff\u2019s Office; Toms River Township Police Department; Lakewood Township Police Department; Bay Head Borough Police Department; Point Pleasant Beach Police Department; Asbury Park Police Department; Monmouth County Prosecutor\u2019s Office Major Crime Unit; Monmouth County Emergency Response Team; Monmouth County Sheriff\u2019s Office; New Jersey State Police; and New Jersey State Police Regional Operations and Intelligence Center.<\/p>\n
