Brick police are investigating the theft of two cars in different sections of the township. The cars, they say, had something in common: in both cases, the vehicles were left unlocked and the key fob left in the vehicle, \u201cmaking them an easy target,\u201d said Capt. Keith Reinhard.<\/p>\n

The first incident occurred on Jan. 6, 2020 when a newer model Mercedes Benz was taken from a residence on Princeton Avenue. The second incident occurred on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020 when a newer model BMW was taken from a residence off of Route 35.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Brick Township Police Department is urging all of its residents to make sure you lock your vehicles, and vehicles equipped with a key fob, ensure you do not leave the fob inside the vehicle,\u201d Reinhard said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlso, just a reminder not to leave anything of value \u2013 i.e. pocketbooks, laptops, electronics, etc. in plain view,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information regarding the two recent burglaries is asked to contact the Investigations Division at 732-262-1120.<\/p>\n
