(Photo: Daniel Nee)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Ocean County officials on Wednesday said they will solicit bids for the repaving of Brick Boulevard through the entire length of Brick Township, and slightly into Toms River.<\/p>\n<p>The Ocean County freeholder board will resurface 3.3 miles of the roadway from its intersection with Route 70 to the intersection of Church Road in Toms River (where the name of the road will have changed to Hooper Avenue).<\/p>\n<p>John Ernst, the county engineer, told Shorebeat the project will include the repaving itself, drainage improvements, new traffic signals and upgrades to pedestrian crossings.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The road will be smoother, we\u2019re going to improve the riding surface,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And the traffic signals will be upgraded for pedestrians to get across more safely.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The project has already been designed and is expected to go to bid next week.
