The wife of former Brick Township Mayor Joseph C. Scarpelli has died.<\/p>\n

Dorothy Carol Scarpelli (nee Montulet) passed away on March 15, 2020 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. She was born in Long Branch and lived in Brick before recently moving to Bonita Springs, Fla.<\/p>\n

\u201cDorothy was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener,\u201d an obituary from Colonial Funeral Home<\/a>, Brick, said. \u201cDorothy enjoyed knitting and sharing memories with her grandchildren.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the obituary:<\/p>\n

She is predeceased by her parents, August Montulet and Mary Rita Barry (Crean), her stepfather, Henry Barry, her son Glenn C. Scarpelli and daughter-in-law, Patricia Scarpelli (Colant) and brother-in-law, Charles Krummel.<\/p>\n

Surviving are her devoted, loving husband of almost 60 years, Joseph C. Scarpelli, son, Dr. Craig J. Scarpelli and his wife Elizabeth Scarpelli (Herdt), daughter, Kim E. Bogan (Scarpelli) and her husband, Andrew Bogan, son, Kyle C. Scarpelli and his wife, Sarah E. Scarpelli (Zimmer) and nine grandchildren: Sarah M. Scarpelli, Paige M. Bogan, Private Andrew P. Bogan, Isabella Scarpelli, Joseph A. Scarpelli, Hannah J. Scarpelli, Leah E. Scarpelli, Ella L. Scarpelli, Lorelei Q. Scarpelli, sister, Paula Krummel, sister-in-law Pam Quis (Scarpelli) and brother-in-law Richard Quis and nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n

Cremation is private and under the direction of Colonial Funeral Homes in Brick.<\/p>\n
