A neighborhood in the township’s Herbertsville section may have been the scene of a tornado or microburst Tuesday afternoon, downing trees, destroying cars and sending sparking powerlines to the ground.<\/p>\n

The epicenter appeared to the be the Bluff View Estates neigborhood on the Manasquan River. Photos of Point View Road, Bluff View Road and Eagle View Ridge showed damage to homes and trees lining the streets, while police were going house-to-house assessing damage and ensuring residents were safe. One home had a tree pierce its picture window.<\/p>\n
