(Photo: Daniel Nee)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>For the first time since Superstorm Sandy ravaged Brick Township&#8217;s beaches, officials this year will restore access to the sand for four-wheel drive vehicles for fall surf fishing.<\/p>\n<p>Beach buggy permits were off the table for several years after Sandy shortened beaches, access points were destroyed and equipment for the construction of a town-wide sea wall followed by beach replenishment took up space on the sand for years.<\/p>\n<p>Brick is now accepting applications for beach vehicle permits for 2020-21, the township announced this week. The permits will allow beach access to vehicles from Oct. 1 through April 30.<\/p>\n<p>Beach vehicle permit applications are available online (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bricktownship.net\/\">www.bricktownship.net<\/a>) and in the Municipal Clerk\u2019s Office.\u00a0 The permit application fee is $35. There is no charge for veterans with a military ID.<\/p>\n<p>Beach access will be available at Brick Beach One only.<\/p>\n<p>All vehicles are subject to an inspection by the Brick Township Police Department before a permit is approved. The inspection schedule is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wednesdays \u2013 September 9, 16, 23 \u2013 6pm-9pm<\/li>\n<li>Fridays \u2013 September 4, 11, 18, 25 \u2013 6pm-9pm<\/li>\n<li>Saturdays \u2013 September 5, 12, 19, 26 \u2013 9am-3pm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Inspections will be conducted at the Municipal Building.<\/p>\n<p>Applications must be completed prior to inspection. Applications must include $35, a copy of a valid driver\u2019s license, and a copy of a valid vehicle registration.
