(Photo: Daniel Nee)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In a sure sign of fall, traffic lights are blinking amber along Route 35 up and down the barrier island.<\/p>\n<p>Motorists, every year, are reminded by local officials to take notice of the flashing lights in order to exercise caution \u2013 as well as avoid stopping unnecessarily on the highway.<\/p>\n<p>A few lights along Route 35 remain active year-round, including Washington Avenue in Lavallette where borough hall and Lavallette Elementary School are located, plus throughout Seaside Heights.<\/p>\n<p>Speed limits island-wide were increased over a week ago to their non-summer figures.
