James Edwards, the district\u2019s business administrator, said that so far the school system has spent all but $127,000.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt almost acts like a reimbursement,\u201d Edwards explained. \u201cIt frees up the money for things we had originally budgeted for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Under the conditions of the CARES Act, the district must spend the funds on items specifically related to the coronavirus pandemic that it otherwise would not have purchased.
