A gale warning was also in effect for Saturday, with wave heights of 6-9 feet expected.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A storm system will affect the region tonight into Saturday bringing a period of heavy rain along with strong winds,&#8221; the NWS office in Mount Holly said Friday. &#8220;The rain could be heavy enough to result in flooding, especially near the coast as it may fall leading up to the time of Saturday morning`s high tide.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Northwest winds gusting up to 45 m.p.h. during the day Saturday could also result in power outages.<\/p>\n<p>After on-and-off showers most of Friday, steady rain will move in overnight, forecasters predicted. Northeast winds will ramp up overnight, as a half-inch to three-quarters of an inch of rain will fall.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, rain will rule the day, but mainly before 1 p.m. with a high near 47 degrees. It will be breezy, with a northeast wind around 25 m.p.h. becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 45 m.p.h. Another half to three quarters of an inch possible.<\/p>\n<p>The storm will move out by about 7 p.m. Saturday night.
