The Brick Policemen\u2019s Benevolent Association Local 230 has held its annual toy drive for years, and the coronavirus pandemic didn\u2019t stop their effort during a Christmas season when it counts more than ever.<\/p>\n

The officers who organized the drive this year were lent a hand by Mayor John Ducey\u2019s Student Advisory Committee. The students helped collect hundreds of gifts and spent an afternoon wrapping them. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe gifts were distributed to Brick families to help make their holidays brighter,\u201d the township said in an announcement<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThank you to the Brick PBA, the students and everyone who donated to the Toys for Tots Drive,\u201d it said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Brick Township Historical Preservation Commission<\/span> hosted its annual Wreaths Across America ceremony at the Gravelly Graveyard yesterday. Also known as Old Wooley Cemetery, it is the oldest cemetery in Brick and most of its graves are occupied by residents long past.<\/span><\/p>\n

The graveyard looks over the Metedeconk River and has graves dating back to veterans of the American Revolution in 1776.<\/p>\n
