Brick Township will waive its $1 late fee for animal registrations after the Jan. 31 deadline since the township\u2019s annual free rabies vaccination clinic will not be held until February.<\/p>\n

The rabies clinic will be held Feb. 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Drum Point Sports Complex. This is the only free clinic for the 2021 licensing year. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, registration was required this year, and capacity has been reached.<\/p>\n

The township council this week suspended late fees of up to $1, which forms a grace period for pet owners for the month of February. The cost of registration normally carries a $1 late fee, per pet, for each month past January. Rabies vaccination is required for a license.<\/p>\n

Under Brick\u2019s animal ordinance, all dogs and cats seven months or older must be licensed during the month of January. A certificate of rabies vaccination must be presented, and must be current through Nov. 2021 for a one year license or Nov. 2023 for a three year license. Also, if a resident\u2019s dog and or cat has been spayed or neutered, a statement from a veterinarian must be presented.<\/p>\n
