(Photo: Township of Brick)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A Brick Township tradition will return for its 26th year following a one-summer hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>With the recent announcement by Gov. Phil Murphy that outdoor gathering and mask mandates are eliminated, Brick officials confirmed that the annual Summerfest celebration will go on, beginning in July with a series of concerts and fireworks shows, then continuing with a number of additional events in August.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s series features four concerts \u2013 each followed by fireworks \u2013 as well as a number of family-friendly events.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled that Summerfest will be returning to Windward Beach Park this July,\u201d said Mayor John Ducey. \u201cIt is one more step in the journey back to normal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The concert schedule is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>July 1: SuperTransAM (\u201970s and \u201980s arena rock).<\/li>\n<li>July 8: The Amish Outlaws (Pop\/Rock)<\/li>\n<li>July 15: The Nerds (Pop\/Rock)<\/li>\n<li>July 22: \u201980s and \u201990s theme music night.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The township will keep July 29 as a rain date in case any of the earlier performances are missed. Shuttle buses will run from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. from Brick Township High School, Drum Point Elementary School, Veterans Memorial Middle School and Brick Memorial High School. Return trips from Windward Beach begin at 9 p.m. and continue until all guests are returned to their pick-up locations.<\/p>\n<p>Shuttle bus patrons will be required to comply with state requirements in place at the time of the concerts regarding masks and social distancing. At the current time, New Jersey maintains a mask mandate on public transportation.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the concerts, Summerfest 2021 will feature several family-friendly events in August. These events are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aug. 5 \u2013 SummerFest Car Show hosted by the Time Capsule Cruisers<\/li>\n<li>Aug. 6 \u2013 Drive-In Movie featuring Back to the Future<\/li>\n<li>Aug. 13 \u2013 Drive-In Movie featuring Abominable<\/li>\n<li>Aug. 20 \u2013 Drive-In Movie featuring The Avengers<\/li>\n<li>Aug. 27 \u2013 Drive-In Movie featuring Tom and Jerry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Car Show begins at 6 p.m. The food court will be open during the car show.
