(File Photo\/ Credit: David Merrett\/ Flickr)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A Toms River man is accused of operating a helipad at his home following reports from residents of a low-flying helicopter in the township\u2019s residential areas in recent days.<\/p>\n<p>According to police spokeswoman Jillian Messina, police received several anonymous complaints about a helicopter flying low within the township, and possibly landing in unauthorized areas and on private property on Dino Boulevard on June 24.<\/p>\n<p>Officers were able to locate and view the helicopter in question and obtain the tail number and owner information, Messina said.<\/p>\n<p>The homeowner and pilot, identified as Meir Gurvitz, provided necessary information to officers and received a citation for violating township zoning ordinance Chapter 348, 10.5, unauthorized helipad zone.<\/p>\n<p>The FAA and state Department of Transportation will be conducting an investigation into the incident and any other violations of federal and state laws.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fcbkbttn_buttons_block\" id=\"fcbkbttn_left\"><div class=\"fb-share-button fcbkbttn_large_button \" data-href=\"https:\/\/shorebeat.com\/brick\/2021\/07\/toms-river-issues-summons-to-resident-for-operating-a-helipad-at-his-home\/\" data-type=\"button_count\" data-size=\"large\"><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Toms River man is accused of operating a helipad at his home following reports from residents of a low-flying helicopter in the township\u2019s residential areas in recent days.
