A Brick Township man is facing a charge of invasion of privacy after allegedly being caught taking \u201cupskirt\u201d photos of a woman in a department store dressing room.<\/p>\n

Police said Donald Sheridan, 62, of Brick, was observed by a witness crouched to the floor, holding his cell phone under the dress of a female victim in the dressing room of the Kohl\u2019s department store Tuesday night at about 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

According to Sgt. Jim Kelly, the witness immediately confronted Sheridan, yelling, \u201cI know what you\u2019re doing.\u201d The witness stayed with Sheridan while the victim asked store personnel to call the police.<\/p>\n

Officers arrived on scene, conducted interviews, and ultimately reviewed security footage of the incident, in which Sheridan \u201ccan be clearly seen positioning himself to hold his cell phone under the victim\u2019s dress,\u201d and placed Sheridan under arrest for invasion of privacy, Kelly said.<\/p>\n

Sheridan was processed and released on a summons.<\/p>\n

The victim\u2019s and witness\u2019s names are being withheld \u201cto protect the dignity and privacy of those involved,\u201d Kelly said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Brick Township police commend this witness for getting involved and acknowledge that public safety is best served when the police and community work as a team,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
