The permit allows a four-wheel drive vehicle to be driven on the beach for the purpose of fishing.<\/p>\n<p>Vehicles are allowed, with permits, on the sand between Oct. 1 and April 30. For several years, permits were not issued due to safety concerns over the size of the beach, plus ongoing replenishment efforts.
