Brick Township received some special recognition during the recent Veterans Day holiday.<\/p>\n

Mayor Ducey was invited to attend the Veterans Day ceremony at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans\u2019 Memorial in Holmdel to receive an award on behalf of the township. The mayor accepted the New Jersey Governor\u2019s \u201cWe Value Our Veterans\u201d Community Award. <\/span><\/p>\n

The award is given to municipalities within the state that show a \u201chigh regard and respect for veterans.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Brick was recognized for a number of its efforts, including veterans\u2019 discounts and beach access, hosting meetings and events in support of local veterans and the renovation of the township\u2019s war memorial in front of town hall. Brick hosted its own Veterans Day ceremony last week as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were one of very few towns in New Jersey to receive this award, and it\u2019s the first time it is ever being given out,\u201d Ducey said.<\/p>\n
