(Photo: Township of Brick)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The mercury may be struggling to rise above freezing, but Brick officials have summer on their minds.<\/p>\n<p>The township council on Tuesday night began soliciting bids for this year&#8217;s annual Summerfest series at Windward Beach \u2013 weekly gatherings that feature a concert, fireworks display, plus food, a beer\/wine garden and more. In keeping with recent tradition, Summerfest will run the four Thursdays from June 30 to July 21, with rain dates scheduled later.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s concert lineup includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>June 30: Super Trans Am (&#8217;70s Concert Experience)<\/li>\n<li>July 7: Stiffler&#8217;s Mom (&#8217;90s Hits)<\/li>\n<li>July 14: The Benjamins (Current Hits, &#8217;90s)<\/li>\n<li>July 21: Jessie&#8217;s Girl (&#8217;80s Hits)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The council also voted to solicit bids for the contract for fireworks at each of the four Summerfest events, plus the Fall Fest celebration. Last year, the township awarded a $22,000 contract to Schaefer Fireworks.
