According to the advisory statement, heat index values from 100 to 104 degrees are expected, which could cause heat-related illnesses to those who remain outdoors.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The highest temperatures and heat indices are expected to occur on Thursday,&#8221; the statement said. &#8220;Low temperatures in the mid 70s Thursday night will not provide much relief from the heat.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The NWS is calling for a high of 96 degrees Thursday and 92 degrees Friday for mainland portions of Ocean County, with temperatures in the mid-to-high 80s along the ocean. It will be sunny with light wind both days, though the NWS forecast calls for the chance of a thunderstorm in the late afternoon hours Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The advisory ends Friday night, though Saturday is also forecast to be warm, with a high of 88 degrees.
