(Photo: Daniel Nee)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>After an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shorebeat.com\/brick\/2022\/06\/court-evicts-corrados-market-from-brick-shopping-center\/\">ill-fated attempt<\/a> by Corrado\u2019s Market, a North Jersey-based specialty supermarket, to populate the former Pathmark store in the Laurel Square shopping center, the plaza\u2019s owner is still intending to anchor a grocery store at the site.<\/p>\n<p>Brick Mayor John Ducey said this week that Brixmor Property Group, the owner of the shopping center located between routes 70 and 88 in the northern portion of town, provided an update on the site during a recent town hall meeting. (Photo: Daniel Nee)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Rumors have been floated that a Monmouth County-based Italian specialty supermarket, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livotisoldworldmarket.com\/\">Livoti\u2019s Old World Market<\/a>, was considering the site for a new location, however the rumors have not been confirmed. Brixmor did not reply to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Brixmor purchased a liquor license that had previously been reserved by Corrado\u2019s for $575,000 \u2013 the same price as Corrado\u2019s would have paid.
