The Brick Township Board of Education on Tuesday night approved $10.7 million in appropriations for HVAC projects at four of the district’s facilities.<\/p>\n

The bond measure to fund the work was previously approved by the board \u2013 Tuesday night’s vote was to appropriate that funding in order to allow contracts to be awarded for its completion. Ultimately, the project is set to be at least partially paid through $7.5 million in pandemic-era relief funding provided by the federal government.<\/p>\n

The work will include the installation of air conditioning systems as well as efficiency upgrades at Lake Riviera Middle School, Lanes Mill Elementary School, Emma Havens Young Elementary School and Drum Point Elementary School. The projects will include wide-ranging improvements, from the replacement of major rooftop-mounted HVAC units to the demolition and reconstruction of interior plant facilities. Most notably, the improvements will add air conditioning and better air filtration to the schools, while improving overall efficiency.<\/p>\n
