What signals a need for literacy support in a child\u2019s first three years? What methods will be most effective?<\/p>\n

The Ocean County Library will be an opportunity for parents to find out during \u201cWhat Is Early Intervention?\u201d at the Ocean County Library Brick Branch, scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Monday, April 10.<\/p>\n

The one-hour program will feature Kathryn Hohner, MSW, of the Ocean County Health Department, and Mary McArdle, EIP Manager of Robert Wood Johnson Children\u2019s Specialized Hospital, who will demonstrate an early intervention session for parents and caregivers.<\/p>\n

\u201cInfants develop skills at their own paces,\u201d an announcement of the program said. \u201cThe first three years are considered to be a critical development stage. The goal of New Jersey\u2019s Early Intervention is to help parents or caregivers concerned about possible developmental delays.\u201d<\/p>\n

The presentation is part of the Ocean County Library\u2019s Milestones in Neurodiversity & Literacy to Grow program, providing literacy-based services for the neurodiverse community, from birth to age five, through a Library Services and Technology Act 2022 (LSTA) grant administered by the New Jersey State Library, an affiliate of Thomas Edison State University.<\/p>\n

Projects are designed to provide training or other literacy-focused support or activities for adults or children.<\/p>\n
