The marshland is located on a plot that fans out behind Eastern Lane, stretching to the upper portion of the Metedeconk River.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is marshland and cannot be built on,\u201d explained Councilwoman Andrea Zapcic, who said the council\u2019s land use committee recommended the acquisition. \u201cThis property has the added benefit of a prime location for the re-use of dredge materials.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A publicly-owned parcel that can be used for dredge recycling is of particular value in Brick, since residents who need to remove clean sand from their lagoons can relocate it to approved areas.
