A portion of Route 35 in Point Pleasant Beach and Bay Head will be closed beginning Monday, Nov. 24, prompting detours in the area where the road curves at the border of the two towns.<\/p>\n

Route 35 will be closed for several weeks from the intersection of Delaware Avenue to Osborne Avenue as the project to reconstruct Route 35 advances, the state Department of Transportation said in a statement.<\/p>\n

The DOT\u2019s contractor,\u00a0Agate Construction Company, Inc., is scheduled to temporarily close a one block portion of Route 35 from Delaware Avenue in Point Pleasant Beach to Osborne Avenue in Bay Head to reconstruct the roadway and drainage.\u00a0 Businesses on Route 35 in this area will be open during construction and local traffic will be maintained up to the point of closure.<\/p>\n

The work is expected to be completed before the end of the year, officials said.<\/p>\n

Detours will be in place:<\/p>\n

Route 35 Southbound (from Point Pleasant Beach)<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Follow signs for Route 88 West
\n\u2022 Turn left onto Bay Avenue
\n\u2022 Turn left onto Bridge Avenue
\n\u2022 Turn right onto Route 35 South<\/p>\n

Route 35 Northbound (from Mantoloking)<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Turn left onto Bridge Avenue
\n\u2022 Turn right onto Bay Avenue
\n\u2022 Turn right onto Route 88 East
\n\u2022 Follow signs for Route 35 North<\/p>\n

Variable message signs will be used to notify motorists of all traffic pattern changes. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.<\/p>\n
