Those financial backers demanded the township establish a 30-year <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shorebeat.com\/brick\/2022\/09\/brick-sports-dome-aims-for-december-construction-new-details-emerge-on-tax-deal\/\">tax exemption<\/a> on their portion of the property \u2013 the rear half of what was once a Foodtown supermarket \u2013 or they would back out of the project. According to planning documents, the developer is proposing amendments to the already-approved plan that include an internal addition of a mezzanine and day care facility to the basketball center. This portion of the complex, a traditionally-built structure, would not be enlarged.<\/p>\n<p>The dome portion, under the proposal would grow. Originally approved for 68,400 square feet, the dome would increase in area to 72,000 square feet, which in turn would increase the footprint of the site from 13,44 square feet to 13,565 square feet. Some of the variance relief being sought in the new application is, essentially, a reaffirmation of previous relief that was granted, including rear setbacks and building coverage.
