(Photo: Shorebeat)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A Brick Township property that was once approved to become a Ford and Mazda dealership will be the subject of a hearing at an upcoming meeting of the township\u2019s zoning board to serve a different use in the automotive industry.<\/p>\n<p>In 2016, All American Mazda in Brick and All American Ford in Point Pleasant Borough \u2013 formerly the Weisleder family of dealerships \u2013 filed an application with Brick\u2019s zoning board seeking permission to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shorebeat.com\/brick\/2016\/09\/car-dealership-proposed-for-burnt-tavern-road-lot\/\">build a new dealership<\/a> with sales and service portions at 949 Burnt Tavern Road. In the years since, much of the land was cleared, some internal roads were built and gravel roads were also constructed. In 2019, the company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shorebeat.com\/brick\/2019\/06\/car-dealer-chain-seeks-permission-to-build-car-wash-prep-facility-in-brick\/\">returned to the board<\/a> seeking permission to use the property as an \u201cauto washing and preparation facility for wholesaling and distribution of new vehicles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now, Selman-Savino Properties, LLC, a holding company that \u2013 according to public records \u2013 is run by\u00a0<span class=\"st\">members of the Selman and Savino families, who own the All-American chain of car dealerships, is seeking a variance from the zoning board to turn the property into a vehicle storage, washing and preparation facility, but without a \u201cprinciple structure,\u201d which is normally required in the M-1 zone, which compromises light industrial uses. (Photo: Shorebeat)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe applicant seeks approval to allow the use described above without a principal building,\u201d a public notice of the proposal said.<\/p>\n<p>Normally, a principle building of at least 5,000 square feet where business would be conducted would be required. The application from All American seeks no buildings on the property.
