(Photo: Shorebeat)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A high probability of dangerous rip currents that have kept swimmers out of the water at some local beaches over the past several days will continue into the holiday weekend, the National Weather Service said.<\/p>\n<p>In its surf zone forecast for Ocean County released early Friday morning, the risk will remain \u201chigh\u201d both Friday and Saturday. The NWS issues surf zone forecasts for two-day periods. A \u201chigh\u201d rip current designation means \u201clife-threatening rip currents are likely in the surf zone,\u201d the NWS said.<\/p>\n<p>According to the forecast, Friday\u2019s surf height will be 3-5 feet, with a water temperature in the upper 60s. Winds will be from the northeast at about 15 m.p.h. High tide will occur at 8:56 a.m. and 9:16 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, the surf height is likewise expected to be 3-5 feet with similar water temperatures and northwest winds around 5 m.p.h., becoming south in the afternoon.
