A Brick man was charged with having over 1,000 images considered child pornography on his computer following a tip submitted through a national clearinghouse.<\/p>\n

Cesar Ortega-Zevallos, 69, was charged with possession of child pornography, the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office said in a statement.<\/p>\n

The investigation was the result of a referral from the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.\u00a0 <\/span>The task force received cyber-tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that an individual was uploading images of child pornography to the internet.\u00a0 <\/span>An investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office High Tech Crime Unit identified an IP address associated with a Brick Township residence as the location from which the individual was uploading the images to the internet.\u00a0 <\/span>That individual was ultimately identified as Ortega-Zevallos, the statement said.<\/p>\n

Detectives from Brick and Ocean County, as well as agents from U.S. Homeland Security Investigations executed a court-authorized search warrant on Ortega-Zevallos\u2019 residence in Brick on Thursday. The address was not divulged publicly.<\/p>\n

A forensic examination of Ortega-Zevallos\u2019 computer by the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office High Tech Crime Unit led to the discovery of more than 1,000 images of child pornography, the statement said. Ortega-Zevallos was taken into custody at his residence without incident. He was transported to the Ocean County Jail, where he is presently lodged pending a detention hearing.<\/p>\n
