The budget this year provides for replacing the surfacing at the playground portion of the park, which would bring it up to current standards and replace the aging surface that currently exists.<\/p>\n<p>Brick set aside enough funding for the expected cost to resurface three parks, however officials will space the projects out \u2013 one a \u2013 as conditions are examined and surfaces come up for maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe rubber surface expires, it degrades,\u201d said Joanne Bergin, the township\u2019s Business Administrator. \u201cWe\u2019re starting with the [park] that needs it most, which is Frede Park.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The project will be put out for public bidding when plans are finalized, and it is expected a contract will be awarded for completion before the end of 2024.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fcbkbttn_buttons_block\" id=\"fcbkbttn_left\"><div class=\"fb-share-button fcbkbttn_large_button \" data-href=\"https:\/\/shorebeat.com\/brick\/2024\/05\/brick-plans-resurfacing-of-township-parks-beginning-with-one-in-2024\/\" data-type=\"button_count\" data-size=\"large\"><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Brick Township, in its 2024 capital budget, plans on budgeting to resurface several parks in town, beginning with a community park that officials say is most in need of an upgrade.
