Ryan to spend five years in prison and pay $107,517 in restitution to the department. Umek had pleaded guilty to the theft charge over the summer in front of a separate judge.<\/p>\n<p>According to prosecutors, an investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office Economic Crime Squad and Point Pleasant Beach police found that between February 2019 and November 2021, Umek \u2013 in his capacity as treasurer for the fire company \u2013 unlawfully transferred funds from the organization\u2019s bank account to pay off personal credit card debt in the amount of approximately $100,000.
