The Brick Township branch of the Ocean County Library is giving locals a chance to \u201cwarm up your holiday spirit with sprightly and sentimental tunes\u201d sure to fire up nostalgia.<\/p>\n

The branch will present \u201cA Ragtime Christmas Concert\u201d with free admission by the legendary Fred Lehotay and the Ragtimers, 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, the library announced this week. The concert will give attendees the chance to sing along as the band whisks them back in time for favorites including A Holly Jolly Christmas<\/em>, Winter Wonderland<\/em>, Silent Night<\/em>, Frosty the Snowman<\/em> and many more songs that light up the season, all in rousing ragtime style.<\/p>\n

Saxophonist Fred Lehotay, guitarist Bob Estler, banjoist Tom Rittenhouse and bassist Gary Nokes, all original members of the Ocean County String Band, have lifted audiences with their hand-clapping, toe-tapping music since 1968.<\/p>\n

Those wishing to attend are asked to register online first at this link<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The concert is being sponsored by The Friends of the Brick Library, a group of volunteers who support the library through programs, fundraisers and advocacy. New members are always welcome.<\/p>\n

The Brick branch of the county library system is located at 301 Chambers Bridge Road, Brick.<\/p>\n
