The New Jersey State League of Municipalities (NJSLOM) is offering three $1,000 scholarships through the Louis Bay 2nd Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship Competition.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants are required to submit an essay of approximately 500 words on the theme, <em><strong>\u201cWhat I Like About My Hometown.\u201d<\/strong><\/em> Essays should be based on the applicant\u2019s perceptions and experiences with their municipality\u2019s local government. The essay should consider the public contributions of their municipal government. Essays will be judged on originality, technical composition and how effectively the theme is articulated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI encourage every Brick Township student planning to attend college or pursue further education to apply for this scholarship,\u201d said Mayor Crate. \u201cWith the rising cost of education, taking the time to complete the application and write a thoughtful essay is a worthwhile investment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Interested students can download a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bricktownship.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/2025-NJSLOM-Scholarship-Package-1.pdf\">2025 NJSLOM Scholarship Package<\/a>.\u00a0To request an application by email, please contact <a href=\"mailto:emoroney@bricktownship.net\">emoroney@bricktownship.net<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This scholarship opportunity is open to all high school juniors and seniors, including Brick Township residents who attend schools outside the community. Completed applications must be returned to the mayor\u2019s office no later than Friday, March 14, 2025.
