(Credit: Google Earth)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Utility work could close a busy stretch of Princeton Avenue for as long as two weeks, township police warned Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The Ocean County Utilities Authority and the Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority will begin a joint project with contractor C.J. Hesse this Monday, March 10, 2025 to maintain a pump station at 494 Princeton Avenue, just east of Midstreams Road.<\/p>\n<p>The project will require that Princeton Avenue remain closed to all traffic from Jordan\/Midtreams Road to Parker Avenue, Brick police said in an announcement. All traffic will be detoured to Jordan Road, Route 88, Bridge Avenue (Point Pleasant), and Beaver Dam Road. The closure will be for 24 hours a day until the completion of this project, according to police, with the construction expected to take up to 14 working days to complete.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder no circumstances will vehicles be able to drive through this work area,\u201d the statement from police said. \u201cThis includes local residents, delivery drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, public transportation, garbage and recycling trucks, and school transportation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Residents living east of the road closures will need to utilize Beaver Dam Road to enter and exit the area until the completion of the project, the statement said.
