Over the weekend, the party announced its full slate of candidates for seats on the governing body, plus the departure of resident Robert Canfield from the race. Canfield, a statement from the party said, has bowed out to focus on a personal business venture.

With three seats up for grabs, a major amount of influence on the council will be at stake in this year’s election, as well as the mayor’s office. Albanese will now seek re-election to his seat, supplanting Canfield on the ticket.

The GOP will also run Gregory J.
