Prosecutors in Ocean County on Friday announced that Dennis Hubert, 42, of Brick Township, has pled guilty to possession of child sexual abuse material. At the time of his sentencing, the state will be seeking a term of five years New Jersey State Prison.<\/p>\n

Authortieis have said the investigation began with a referral from the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. The task force itself received a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that an individual was sending and receiving images of child pornography from the internet.<\/p>\n

An investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor\u2019s Office High Tech Crime Unit identified an IP address associated with a Brick Township residence as the location from which the individual was accessing images of child pornography from the internet, the prosecutor\u2019s office said in a statement. That individual was ultimately identified as Hubert.<\/p>\n

Detectives from the prosecutor\u2019s office, Homeland Security Investigations, and Brick Township Police Department executed a court-authorized search warrant on Hubert\u2019s residence in October. An initial forensic examination of Hubert\u2019s electronic devices led to the discovery of \u201cseveral items of child pornography,\u201d the statement said. Hubert was taken into custody at his residence; he was transported to the Ocean County Jail.<\/p>\n

Hubert is currently lodged in New Jersey State Prison for a violation of his parole in an unrelated case. Court record show Hubert was previously convicted of similar charges of endangering the welfare of a child due to illicit photos in a 2014 case. He had been released from custody in January 2024, just nine months before the current case emerged.<\/p>\n
