He was initially appointed to the bench by former Mayor John Ducey \u2013 now a Superior Court judge himself \u2013 and replaced Judge Robert Lepore.<\/p>\n<p>Under Brick\u2019s form of government, the mayor is tasked with appointing the municipal court judge, but must obtain advice and consent from the governing body. Grisanti\u2019s reappointment passed unanimously. His new term runs for an additional three years, from Aug. 22, 2025 through Aug. 21, 2028.<\/p>\n<p>Municipal court judges are considered employees of the township and are paid a salary of $135,928 per year, which is set by ordinance. Prior to first being appointed to the judgeship in 2016, Grisanti worked as an attorney in private practice and as a municipal prosecutor in several local courts. He also served as a member of the state\u2019s Attorney Ethics Committee, which reviews legal ethics questions.<\/p>\n<p>Before becoming a Brick resident, he also served as mayor of Jackson Township.
