But as some customers lamented the closure of the retail office several years ago, the company said it has opened a new store in Brick Township.

Comcast has quietly opened the retail store at Brick Plaza, where a formal ribbon-cutting event is scheduled for next month, after the summer season. Though the opening has yet to be promoted, the company told Shorebeat that the store is now open, and already offering its products, including its Xfinity cable and high-speed data service and its Xfinity Mobile service.

The store, located at Suite 20A at the plaza (56 Chambers Bridge Road) is being operated by an authorized retailer licensed by Comcast to sell its products. According to the company, the store offers pre-timed appointments to reduce waiting, and can handle most customer requests about upgrading, downgrading, starting or canceling service; collecting or turning in equipment, billing issues and information on its mobile and smart home products, among others.

Comcast long operated a store just minutes away on Brick Boulevard near its intersection with Route 70. That location was shuttered several years ago, with the company opening an office on Hooper Avenue in Toms River to serve Brick customers. The former Comcast building remains owned by the company and, according to planning documents, is expected to remain operational along with the former Friendly’s location, but not in a customer-facing manner.

The ribbon cutting ceremony for the new retail store, in cooperation with the Brick Township Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for Sept. 16, 2025 from 8 to 10 a.m.

Recently, Shorebeat reported on plans by Comcast to turn the former Friendly’s restaurant next to its own former customer service building into an unmanned switching and backup facility as the company rolls out its next-generation fiber technologies to compete with mobile rivals.
