Professionally, Talty worked for Ciba-Geigy in Toms River where he was a union leader and advocate for his fellow employees. In his role with the school board, Talty was a stalwart supporter of student athletics as well as spearheading funding for new science labs and similar resources, as well as pushing for programs to support students seeking careers in the trades.<\/p>\n<p>A viewing will be held at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Route 88, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 18.
